    YouthWORKS
           
SONOMA COUNTY YOUTH ECOLOGY CORPS
   
The Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps (SCYEC) provides youth and young adults with meaningful, paid work experience, environmental education, and the opportunity to explore careers and develop work-readiness skills.  Youth contribute to their community while completing environmental and conservation-related projects or by working with local non-profit organizations.  Funding for SCYEC is a provided by the Sonoma County Water Agency, the Workforce Investment Board, Youth Council, the Sonoma County Human Services Department, and the Sonoma County Office of Education.

Projects Include:
●  Creek clean-up
 
●  Native plant maintenance
 
●  Park beautification
 
●  Non-native plant removal
 
●  Community garden install
 
●  Cavity-nesting bird box
