Planning and Management Scenarios
The planning and management scenarios presented here demonstrate
the integration of physical, environmental, and spatial data
to support decision making by coastal managers, planners, and
restoration professionals for salmonid recovery. They summarize
the data needed, a process to analyze the data, and how results
could be used to address realistic resource management issues
that decision makers are faced with. They also discuss
some of the limitations or caveats of doing such analyses. Although
these scenarios refer to real data sets for specific geographic
areas, they were not designed to produce results that promote
specific management recommendations. Rather, they were developed
to relay a process (one of many) that coastal managers can use
when making decisions about coastal resources.
Scenario:
Prioritizing alluvial reaches for riparian corridor expansion, protection, and
restoration.
Scenario: Identifying sedimentation risks to in-stream habitat
for potential reduction. (under development) |
