PARENT PROJECT

Parent Project®/Padres Unidos is a parent education program for parents of difficult adolescents. Developed originally as a combined effort of law enforcement, education, and mental health professionals, the Parent Project® seeks to empower those that have the greatest opportunity to influence adolescents for positive change: parents.

We present this program in English and Spanish.  The program presented in Spanish is called Padres Unidos.  This ten-session program will offer parents practical, concrete behavior modification strategies to practice at home. Parents are taught in a supportive classroom environment and receive a 226-page activity based workbook. The curriculum has been designed to address the most destructive of adolescent behaviors (runaways, drug and alcohol use, poor school performance and attendance, gangs, and violent teens).  It is designed to revive parents’ desire, and provide the skills, and emotional and practical support they need to address their teen’s problem behaviors.

Taught by Certified Parent Project® Facilitator Manuel Lopez, and Juan Avila-Perez.
